The Best Single-Origin Coffees to Try in 2026

Roast Coffee Team

Single-origin coffee — beans sourced from a single farm, region, or country — is the best way to experience the incredible diversity of flavor that coffee has to offer. If you have been drinking blends your whole life, trying a great single-origin is like switching from table wine to a vineyard-specific bottle. Here are the origins we think every coffee lover should explore in 2026.

Ethiopian Yirgacheffe

If you have never tried an Ethiopian coffee, start here. Yirgacheffe is known for its bright, floral character with notes of jasmine, bergamot, and stone fruit. It is light, complex, and unlike anything you have tasted in a commercial blend. We recommend brewing it as a pour over to let the aromatics shine.

Colombian Supremo

Colombian Supremo is the crowd-pleaser — rich, balanced, and incredibly versatile. Expect caramel sweetness, a hint of walnut, and a clean chocolate finish. It works beautifully as drip, pour over, or espresso. If you want one bean that does everything well, this is it.

Kenyan AA

Kenya AA is one of the most distinctive coffees in the world. Bold, wine-like acidity with blackcurrant and grapefruit notes. It is not subtle — it is a coffee that demands your attention and rewards it. Best as a pour over or light espresso.

Guatemala Reserve

Guatemala produces some of the most balanced coffees in Central America. Our Guatemala Reserve has cocoa, warm spice, and brown sugar notes with a syrupy body. It is a natural fit for anyone coming from darker roasts who wants to explore specialty coffee without giving up richness.

Sumatra Mandheling

Sumatra is the opposite end of the spectrum from Ethiopian — earthy, full-bodied, with notes of dark chocolate, cedar, and tobacco. It is the coffee for people who want something heavy and grounding. Incredible as a French press or cold brew.

Brazilian Natural

Brazilian coffees are known for their nutty, low-acid profile with peanut, chocolate, and dried fruit notes. Natural-processed Brazilians add a layer of fruity sweetness that makes them wonderfully complex for such a smooth, easy-drinking cup.

Try Them All

All of these single-origin coffees are available in our online shop, freshly roasted at our Medford, NJ cafe and shipped the same day. Or start a subscription and rotate through different origins each delivery. The best way to find your favorite is to try them all.
