Mount Laurel's Best-Kept Coffee Secret
Mount Laurel is one of Burlington County's largest and fastest-growing townships, with a thriving corporate corridor along Route 73 and I-295, excellent neighborhoods, and parks like Laurel Acres that draw families year-round. The coffee scene along the Route 73 strip, though, is dominated by the same national chains you find everywhere — convenient but unremarkable. Roast Coffee Company in Medford offers something completely different, and it is only 20 minutes away.
Since 2014, we have been roasting specialty coffee in small batches at our Medford cafe. Every bag and every cup starts with beans we sourced from farms we trust in Ethiopia, Colombia, Kenya, Guatemala, and Brazil. Mount Laurel professionals and families have been discovering us steadily over the past few years, and many now count the drive to Roast as one of their favorite weekend rituals. The route is easy — straight out Route 38 to 541, or down 73 to Route 70 — and the reward at the end is coffee that is genuinely fresh, flavorful, and unlike anything the chains can offer.
Coffee Worth the Drive from the Corporate Corridor
If you work in the Mount Laurel corporate parks along Fellowship Road or the Centerton Road business district, you know that the midday coffee run usually means a drive-through line at one of the half-dozen chains on Route 73. There is nothing wrong with that when you are short on time. But for those days when you want something better — a real espresso pulled from fresh-roasted beans, a cold brew that is smooth enough to drink black, or a pour over that actually tastes like the origin on the label — Roast is 20 minutes away and it makes all the difference.
Our menu is built for people who care about what they drink. Espresso from rotating single-origin and blend selections. Cold brew steeped for 18 hours. Pour overs that highlight the character of each bean. Plus acai bowls, breakfast sandwiches, and pastries for when you need more than just caffeine. Mount Laurel customers who work from home tell us they plan their week around a Roast run — it is a reason to get out of the house and come back with a bag of beans that keeps them going all week.
Directions from Mount Laurel
From the Laurel Acres Park area and central Mount Laurel, take Route 38 East for about 7 miles to Route 541 South. Follow 541 into Medford — Roast Coffee Company is on Tuckerton Road, just off 541. The drive takes about 20 minutes and is a simple, straight route through pleasant suburban and rural scenery. No highway ramps, no stressful merges.
If you are coming from the Route 73 corridor or the neighborhoods near Rancocas Woods, you can also take Route 73 South to Route 70 East and follow it into Medford. This route takes about the same amount of time and passes through Marlton before reaching us. Whichever way you choose, there is plenty of free parking at our cafe, and the quiet Tuckerton Road location is a welcome break from the congestion of Route 73 and I-295. Many Mount Laurel visitors tell us the peaceful drive is half the reason they keep coming back.
